San Francisco Movie Tours was founded in 2007 to fill the market need of providing motor coach and walking tours to famous San Francisco movie locations. We are 100% family-owned and locally-operated, which allows us to provide an insider’s perspective on all things San Francisco. We know you work hard all year to take a vacation so we make sure to do everything in our power to make your tour a memory you’ll treasure for a lifetime!
Our owner has three passions that he melded together to create these San Francisco sightseeing tours: (1) a passion for San Francisco, (2) a passion for movies, and (3) a passion for figuring out where movies are filmed all over the world (yes, that one’s weird). On his first visit to Los Angeles during his college years, the top sites were the mall and high school from Fast Times at Ridgemont High, the McFly residence from Back to the Future, and the Walsh family house from Beverly Hills 90210, and, of course, The Brady Bunch house.
Imagine his excitement when he moved to San Francisco over 20 years ago and could recreate the Bullitt chase scene, visit Mrs. Doubtfire’s house, and knock on Jimmy Stewart’s front door from Vertigo! San Francisco Movie Tours is focused on making a difference in our community. We give a portion of all proceeds to support community projects designed to assist San Francisco citizens in need, including Glide Memorial Church, Project Open Hand, and the Delancey Street Foundation.
We are fully insured and licensed by the State of California Public Utilities Commission and are regulated and inspected annually by the California Highway Patrol. We are proud members in good standing at the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau. We train all of our local guides one-on-one to make sure that they are knowledgeable, courteous, and most of all, able to attend to your needs. Of course, they wouldn’t get hired in the first place if they didn’t absolutely love San Francisco and the cinema scene that pulsates throughout the city.
